Operation Breakdown of Amelia Shorts

Operation Breakdown of Amelia Shorts

If you're working in garment manufacturing, especially in the production of lightweight woven or knit shorts, the Amelia Shorts are a great example of a simple and efficient design. These shorts are known for their ease of production, making them ideal for both high-volume lines and small-scale factories.

In this article, we’ll break down the operation sequence of Amelia Shorts, including the Standard Minute Value (SMV), machines required, and hourly production targets at different efficiency levels.

Operation Breakdown of Amelia Shorts

Operation Breakdown of Amelia Shorts
is done by the following table. In this operation Breakdown process list, estimated time, machine name, hourly production target quantity at 100% and 75% efficiency are shown. The estimated time (SMV) shown in the below table will vary according to the product method followed and machine and equipment used in actual production. So please be careful while you use the above estimated time against each operation.

Full form of Machine Name:

In the above table a short name of sewing machines is written. Followings are the abbreviation of those short machine codes.

SNLS - Single Needle Lock Stitch

DLM - Single Needle Side cutter

MNCS - Multy Needle Chain Stitch

5T O/L - Five Thread Over Lock

Manual - Helper

Important Reminder:

When using the estimated SMVs for production planning or line balancing, always consider:
  • The exact style and method of production being followed.
  • Whether automated or semi-automated equipment is being used.
  • Adjustments based on sampling, pre-production trials, or method improvements.

How to set the target per hour in the Sewing line of the Garment Factory?

It will be best to set the line layout target based on line efficiency, line cost and delivery date of the style.

Formula to set the 100% target:

Daily Target = (Worker x Working hour x 60/ SMV) x efficiency %

Basic Pitch Time (BPT) =Total SMV / Total Manpower

We can use “Ball Point needle or Sharp Point" Needle to stitch this item.

Single Needle Edge Side Cutter        --- DB 1

Operation Bulletin makes our work easy to set up a production line in the apparel industry. We can easily manage machine and operator requirements for any sewing line by this. But it is necessary to do an operation breakdown to prepare a machine layout and line balancing by industrial engineering (IE).

Visit here to know what is operation breakdown. You can visit my website to learn more about the bulletin or breakdown of garments and different types of industrial sewing machines.
