I often have a question, what is the concept of brother TQM and QMS, I once had this question, what are the two things? Many people have this question, but I could not be very happy with their answer. I am organizing today with these two issues.
If the definition goes, then TQM, or Total Quality Management, is a special way of determining the quality of an organization or company according to its internal standards.
QMS, on the other hand, refers to the quality management system as an integrated process of methods, approaches, and many tools designed to ensure excellence and compliance with specific (regulatory) standards set by the customer and regulatory authority. . Let's take a look at the details of the two things, whether the two things are the same or different.
What is a Quality Management System (QMS)?
A quality management system (QMS) is a set of clearly defined business processes that are consistently designed to deliver the highest quality products and services. An effective QMS system sets a beautiful plan for its continuous measurement and improvement as well as it is committed to quality.
Typically once an organization implements a QMS system, most organizations are monitored by a certification body that ensures that their QMS system complies with the standards and is certified to ISO 9001.

The original idea of TQM came from the manufacturing company, but due to its popularity it is now widely used in almost all sectors. TQM focuses on improving its processes to enhance customer satisfaction by following a cycle of Plan, Do, Check and Act (PDCA). Often TQM is conducted in a specific area instead of applying it across the entire organization or organization.

Some people say that Total Quality Management is an approach that tests the quality of a product by keeping it in line with the internal requirements of a company.
On the other hand, KMS (Quality Management System) is a collection of processes, methods and systems established to ensure product quality in line with the requirements of the customer and its compliance.
To put it bluntly, in both TQM and QMS, everyone in the organization is responsible for ensuring the quality of their products by improving their products, services, processes and even work culture.
Assuming that, TQM is a general philosophy of achieving business excellence.
In that case QMS is the answer: how to realize this philosophy.
Finally, we can summarize that TQM is a variety of business management techniques but QMS is a combination of organizational structure, method, process, work environment and resource resources to implement quality management. Considered as an essential element.
